Hello, I'm Rdouane
I was born and raised in the High Atlas, a Berber from Imlil, at the foot of Toubkal. As a child I loved the mountains, and nature has always felt like a good friend to me. When it was time to choose a career, I didn't want to leave. I wanted to work in my own place and give something back to the nature I love.
Becoming a guide was my own idea. I love being outside and meeting people from different cultures all over the world. I studied for two years to qualify, and I'm now a licensed mountain guide (Licence No. 1373) with more than 8 years of experience. I've climbed Toubkal more than 200 times and guided guests from all over the world. I also studied biology at university in Marrakech, so I know the mountains as a naturalist as well as a local.
I guide in both the mountains and the desert, and I manage Auberge Matat, where many of my guests stay before and after their trek. You get my whole team (guides, drivers, muleteers and cooks), all led by me personally.
